Addiction Treatment for Teachers & Educators
When it comes to professions that are underpaid, undervalued, and underappreciated, professional educators often top the list. Most don’t realize just how stressful it is to be a part of this profession, and the tension that surrounds it is often the reason that most will leave it.
“Two-thirds of teachers may want to quit the profession, while 36.4 percent are likely to quit.”

Those in the educational profession are more than just teachers. They are role models, mentors, and can sometimes even adopt parental roles for their students. This can lead to burn-out and unhealthy methods of coping.
Parkdale Center is aware of the necessity of balancing your career, your personal life, and your sobriety. We offer specialized treatment programs that cater to the specific needs of your profession.
We Are here for you
Specialized Treatment for Teachers & Educators
Our mission at Parkdale Center is to offer tailored treatment to each client we work with. We understand that teachers and educators may be especially likely to face stress on the job that impacts their relationship with addiction. Our programs have been designed with your career and needs in mind; we strive to offer support that helps you build a professional life you’re proud of and helps you recover from substance misuse.
To make these goals a reality, we focus on intensive outpatient treatment options, dual-diagnosis care, and career restoration services that give our clients the tools to succeed. Parkdale Center rises above the rest in terms of treating each client like the whole person they are.
Recognizing the Challenges Teachers & Educators Face
Teachers and educators are among the most passionate but also the most overlooked professionals the world has to offer. Many are asked to work long hours beyond the school day spent grading papers, making lesson plans, developing exams, and more. Despite the busy work schedule, many educators don't see pay that matches their efforts. A lack of funding even forces some to take purchasing school supplies into their own hands. What's more, educators often face criticism from students, parents, and peers alike. The immense pressure to help children grow into successful adults, coupled with a lack of support from administration, puts many educators in an extremely difficult position. It's no wonder that so many hard-working educators feel lost and turn to substance misuse as a way to cope with the challenges they face. Even as more and more teachers and educators push back and demand the pay, respect, and time off they deserve, the need for treatment that helps pick up the pieces grows. While educators may not get the appreciation they've earned, we recognize their critical role in building a functional society. Without teachers and educators, our future would be dim. At Parkdale Center, we believe that educators should be prioritized just as much as their students. Whether you love teaching or are ready to take your career in a new direction, we're here to help connect you with the resources and skills you need to thrive.

We Are Here For You: Our Program
Our drug and alcohol rehab programs promote public safety while complying with all treatment recommendations from involved parties and the local, state, and federal authorities. This is why you see the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards accreditation seal of approval on our website. We take these standards very seriously.
A significant part of what makes Parkdale Center unique is the range of treatment services we offer our clients. No matter your needs, we have something that can help you achieve your goals.
The first step of any treatment plan is reaching sobriety. While Parkdale Center does not offer detoxification services, we can help you manage withdrawal symptoms safely. Our clinical staff monitors clients and intervenes as necessary to make the withdrawal process safe.
Our PHP is an intensive, full-time program that engages clients in regular treatment based on their goals. Group therapy, individual counseling, and psychoeducational activities are just a few of the tactics we use to help our clients stay on track.
After the completion of a PHP, clients can transition to our IOP, which requires less time spent in treatment but still keeps clients accountable for their goals. Outpatient care is an ideal option for those who need a space to confide in and find support from others but who may not need round-the-clock supervision.
Treating addiction without addressing its potential root causes is far less likely to be successful than a comprehensive approach. Because many clients experience mental health concerns that affect their addiction, we offer dual-diagnosis treatment that considers both areas of need. Clients can receive mental health treatment so that they can pursue their other treatment goals without hindrance.
