Our Treatment Programs for Professionals
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Indiana & Beyond
For some people, completing the partial hospitalization portion of the rehabilitation program is the easiest step in their recovery. When they return to their everyday life, activities, and schedule, they are reintroduced to the elements and factors that put them on the pathway to addiction. That is why we feel it is so essential to establish a transition from inpatient treatment to our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program (IOP) in Indiana, Arizona, Illinois, Ohio, and Utah.
The IOP offers at least nine hours of therapeutic time per week with a qualified addiction counselor. Our clinical team often recommends IOP to ensure that an individual establishes and maintains new and healthy habits while returning to everyday life.
Your success in these programs strengthens your overall sobriety while laying a solid foundation for future advocacy. Parkdale will work with you locally or via Telehealth for residents in Indiana, Arizona, Illinois, Ohio, and Utah, to ensure you are receiving the best-continuing care.

Medication management is a crucial step for patients who need pharmacological interventions as part of their treatment strategy. Regular consultations with a psychiatrist or prescribing doctor allow for dosage modifications, monitoring of medication effectiveness, and discussion of any issues or adverse effects. Medication management encourages holistic care and ideal therapeutic results when combined with therapy.
Many IOPs promote family participation in recognizing the importance of a person’s support network on their recovery journey. Sessions in family therapy offer a forum for addressing interpersonal dynamics, educating family members about the patient’s illness, fostering understanding and support, and improving communication. The formation of a strong and stable support system can help an individual’s general well-being when family members are involved.
At our Indiana intensive outpatient program, we strive to assist our patients in navigating the road to recovery. We recognize that each individual’s journey is unique and will work with you to develop a plan of action tailored specifically to your needs. With our team of professionals alongside you on this journey, success can be achieved!

What to Expect When Entering an IOP
Our IOP in Indiana Includes
The program typically commences with a thorough and detailed assessment, which aims to identify and understand the unique needs, strengths, and treatment goals of the individual. This comprehensive evaluation plays a vital role in enabling the treatment team to create a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically to the individual's requirements. This evaluation also allows us to get a better understanding of any co-occurring mental health disorders or mental health concerns so that we can adequately address them with tailored mental health treatment services, if needed. Considering all relevant factors, our comprehensive assessment ensures that the treatment plan addresses the individual's specific needs and maximizes the potential for successful outcomes.
Group therapy sessions are a vital and indispensable component of Intensive Outpatient Programs. In these sessions, participants come together regularly in a safe and supportive group environment, expertly facilitated by a therapist. During these meetings, individuals can discuss their personal experiences openly, share valuable insights, and extend mutual support to one another. The collective wisdom and empathetic connections fostered in these group therapy sessions can play a significant role in each participant's healing and growth journey.
Intensive Outpatient Programs often incorporate educational sessions to provide comprehensive information and valuable resources related to the specific issue being treated. These educational sessions cover various topics, including addiction, mental health, coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and healthy lifestyle choices. By delving into these subjects, IOPs equip individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary for their recovery journey, promoting long-term well-being and success.
If medication is part of the individual's comprehensive treatment plan, it is crucial to maintain regular appointments with a qualified psychiatrist or prescribing physician. These appointments serve to diligently monitor the effectiveness of the medication, make necessary adjustments to dosages if needed, and address any concerns or potential side effects that may arise. Individuals can optimize their medication therapy and enhance their overall well-being by ensuring thorough and consistent oversight.
IOPs are designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and strategies to prevent relapse and sustain long-term recovery. This comprehensive approach entails identifying potential triggers that may jeopardize progress, acquiring and implementing healthy coping mechanisms to navigate challenging situations, and formulating a robust relapse prevention plan to safeguard against setbacks. By focusing on these aspects, IOPs offer individuals a solid foundation for maintaining their sobriety and achieving lasting wellness.
Besides the core support services, a comprehensive range of additional assistance is available to individuals. This includes personalized case management tailored to their specific needs, vocational guidance to help them navigate career challenges, dedicated support with housing and legal matters, and connections to a wide array of community resources that can provide valuable aid in their recovery journey.
As the individual progresses through the program, the dedicated treatment team will closely collaborate with them to develop a personalized and comprehensive aftercare plan. This plan is designed to ensure the continuity of support and maintenance of the progress achieved during the IOP. The aftercare plan may encompass various elements, such as providing referrals to specialized outpatient therapy tailored to the individual's needs. Additionally, the treatment team may suggest participation in support groups that offer a nurturing community and valuable resources to aid in the individual's ongoing journey toward recovery. By leveraging the available resources within the community, the aftercare plan aims to provide a holistic approach to long-term support and well-being.
Reintegration/Professional Re-Entry to work may be our next recommendation, however, it depends on your individual needs. In every case, we recommend Aftercare to follow the Intensive Outpatient Program, in order to give you the best prospect to maintain your sobriety.
