Anthem Drug Rehab Coverage

One of the most common barriers to receiving treatment for substance use disorder is cost. Still, many people mistakenly believe that drug and alcohol rehab is out of reach when, in reality, their insurance can cover most of the costs.

Nothing should stand between you and the care you need. If you have health insurance through Anthem (an independent licensee under the Blue Cross and Blue Shield umbrella), care at the Parkdale Center might be the right fit for you and your finances. We’re always happy to talk you through your options. Give us a call at 888-895-2471 or contact us now to learn more about our Anthem drug rehab services.

Coverage for Treatment

What Therapies Does Anthem Drug Rehab Coverage Cover?

The Summary of Benefits section of your policy packet may list specific therapies and treatments covered by your Anthem health plan. Just because someone else you know used their Anthem health insurance to cover certain services does not always mean your plan will cover the same services.

Generally, though, Anthem plans may cover all, most, or part of the expenses related to:

  • Substance Detoxification: The process of ridding your body of drugs or alcohol and safely managing any withdrawal symptoms.
  • Inpatient Treatment: Round-the-clock care and supervision for those who are currently detoxing or have just completed that step.
  • Outpatient Treatment: Therapies and interventions for clients who are stable enough to return to their homes every evening after treatment sessions.
  • Medication-Assisted Therapy: Includes medicines like suboxone, a substance that helps clients get off of heroin or prescription opioids.

Anthem’s plans generally fall into one of three categories or tiers:

  • Gold: Has higher premiums but lower copays and out-of-pocket costs for treatment.
  • Silver: Strikes a balance between lower premiums and lower out-of-pocket costs.
  • Bronze: Includes the lowest premiums but often has high deductibles and copays.

It’s crucial to verify your insurance benefits with an Anthem representative or someone at an Anthem drug rehab facility.

Not Sure What Your Anthem Insurance Covers?

You’re certainly not alone if you’re confused by your health insurance benefits even after reading through your plan. Your policy might have subtle differences from other policies, including Anthem policies. Before enrolling in outpatient treatment at Parkdale Center, a staff member will confirm insurance coverage for addiction treatment.

Recovery is Possible

Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment at Parkdale Center

So, how does treatment at Parkdale Center work? The first thing to understand about our facility is that we offer outpatient care for substance use disorder and dual diagnosis treatment. If you need in-person care at a 24/7 facility, we would be happy to connect you with local inpatient centers.

Detoxification of drugs or alcohol can cause serious withdrawal symptoms that can be life-threatening in some cases. Some people, however, can safely go through withdrawal at their own homes with appropriate treatment and monitoring. While Parkdale Center is not technically a withdrawal management center, we offer a unique virtual withdrawal program that works well for many clients.

Our medical staff meets with prospective clients who want to engage in virtual withdrawal care. If our practitioner feels you are a good fit for the program and you want to enroll, we’ll send you everything you need. You’ll have reliable and constant access to our team throughout the withdrawal program.

Parkdale Center’s PHP is the most time-intensive level of outpatient care. PHP care gets delivered at our Chesterton, Indiana facility and not at a hospital. Clients have access to numerous therapies, including one-on-one, group, and family therapy. You’ll meet with our practitioner if you are on supportive medication. Other staff members will work with your employer and licensing agencies to preserve your professional well-being.

Clients in our PHP spend at least 15 hours per week at the facility, and care can be accessed five or seven days per week. If you recently left an inpatient facility and have a stable home environment, you might be a good fit for the PHP.

The IOP level at Parkdale Center is a step down in care from PHP. IOP clients usually receive nine hours of treatment per week. The IOP often allows clients to resume some of their responsibilities in the outside world, including work. This transition can present many opportunities for relapse, however, which is why individuals still need robust care and support.

In the IOP, you can keep up with most (or all) of the same therapies you started in the PHP. You’ll continue learning ways to manage substance cravings and stress.

Recovery is not a set-it-and-forget-it type of thing; it only happens if you make healthy choices every day. Parkdale Center wants to set you up for success after you complete our PHP and IOP. To do that, we can help you find support groups, sober living facilities, 12-step programs, and other helpful resources for you and your loved ones.

Many people continue seeing a therapist after completing outpatient treatment for substance use disorder; our staff has connections with a number of high-quality therapists who can help you maintain a substance-free future. Parkdale Center’s virtual aftercare program can be the sturdy bridge to your new independent life.

Unlike most other outpatient centers, Parkdale Center prioritizes clients’ careers and professional reputations. We understand the unique pressures and stressors of highly accountable industries, such as health care, law, and academics. We know you worked hard to get to where you are in your professional life, and our staff will work hard to preserve the status quo.

Our staff members will work with your employer to help them understand the importance of treatment for substance use disorder. We have connections with regulatory and licensing bodies, law enforcement, and monitoring programs. Above all, we want to help you regain the confidence you need to flourish in your career.

Parkdale Center aims to meet clients where they are. Our virtual IOP helps bring our services to clients who may not be able to receive in-person care. The virtual IOP can provide you with the same therapies and treatments you’d receive at our facility. The program is highly structured so that you can easily complete sessions and objectives from the convenience of your own home. The technologies we use are HIPAA-compliant and adhere to strict privacy standards.
