- Raquel Wood, MS
Raquel Wood brings over a decade of dedicated service in the field of Substance Use Disorder treatment, offering a deep combination of clinical expertise and unwavering compassion to her role. Holding a Master’s in Psychology with a specialization in substance use disorders, Raquel has devoted the last 11 years to working across a broad spectrum of care settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, correctional facilities, methadone programs, and buprenorphine (Suboxone) clinics.
Raquel’s career has taken her into some of the most challenging and underserved arenas of addiction recovery, where she has consistently advocated for dignity, hope, and sustained transformation. Whether supporting individuals in voluntary treatment or working within the constraints of justice-system settings, she approaches each person as a whole human being, acknowledging their story, their values, their spiritual or entity-based experiences, and their capacity for change.
Her clinical practice is grounded in evidence-based modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral interventions, relapse prevention planning, and trauma-informed care, and is deeply informed by her passion for Substance Use Disorder work. Raquel has supported clients through withdrawal transitions, methadone maintenance, Suboxone stabilization, co-occurring mental health disorders, and reintegration after incarceration. Her experience spans early intervention through long-term aftercare, and she understands that healing is both a personal journey and a connected one.
She is honored to serve alongside the Parkdale team and welcomes the opportunity to walk with individuals and families in their recovery journey, because she knows that true healing happens when people are seen, supported, and empowered to rebuild.
