Donna graduated from Purdue University Northwest with a Master of Science degree in Education. She is a licensed mental health counselor associate with 4 years of experience. Donna’s clinical experience includes a variety of settings including residential, hospital, and outpatient for both addictions and mental health concerns. She enjoys individual and group counseling to assist adolescents and adults with learning healthy behaviors and coping skills. Donna’s approach includes utilizing acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
Donna has experience working with various types of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief/loss, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder in conjunction with addictions. She found interest and meaningfulness in the field of addiction and strives to raise awareness with families and the community. Donna says, “it is important to raise awareness in order to redefine the stigma and misconceptions about addictions.” Donna encourages the progression towards committed action while in recovery by using learned coping skills and SMART goals.
